  • Peach Cobbler
    1. Step 1 of 6: Peach Cobbler

      In a bowl, mix together frozen peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and salt, and add to a buttered baking dish.

    2. Step 2 of 6: Peach Cobbler

      In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, cold butter, and cold shortening, and mix together with a pastry cutter.

    3. Step 3 of 6: Peach Cobbler

      In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and eggs.

    4. Step 4 of 6: Peach Cobbler

      Drizzle and stir in wet ingredients into the dry ingredients bowl until it's mixed thoroughly.

    5. Step 5 of 6: Peach Cobbler

      Take pinches of dough and top the peaches, and then finish by sprinkling sugar over the dots of dough.

    6. Step 6 of 6: Peach Cobbler

      Bake cobbler and serve.

Fruit:
3 pounds frozen peaches
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (note: we did not do this in the show, but it is necessary)
3 tablespoons lemon juice
Pinch of salt
Topping:
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 heaping tablespoons sugar, plus extra for sprinkling over the top
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
Pinch of salt
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons vegetable shortening or lard
3/4 cup whole milk
2 whole eggs
